I’m sure many of you have already seen the banner on the school gate. Please come and join us for the Macmillan Coffee morning on 29th September. Do you know any families with pre-school aged children? Or families who are considering moving to the Newtown area? Please encourage them to join us for our open morning so they can discover how unique Newtown Primary School is and see the amazing facilities and opportunities we can offer.

Updating Details

Have you changed your phone number or email address? Please make sure that you let the school office know of any changes so that we can keep all contact details up-to-date.

Volunteering To Help

If you would like to volunteer to help in school with reading and small group work, please speak to your child’s class teacher. Parent volunteers will receive a safeguarding induction. The school completes a DBS check for all parents who volunteer on a regular basis.

After-School Club

Newtown Preschool provides an after-school club for Newtown pupils. Every day there is a walking bus after school, from the school to the preschool. To ensure that all pupils are safe on the walk, they are no longer allowed to take scooters.

Friends of Newtown School – FONS

FONS is a very important part of Newtown School. They arrange the events that your children love to attend, such as the discos and Christmas/summer fayres. They raise lots of money for the school that pays for theatre groups, technology and resources to enhance support in the classrooms and playgrounds.

Please attend their next meeting on Friday 13th October, 9am-10am in the school hall. There will be a crèche for younger children so that you can be fully involved in the meeting.

Gym Club (Years 3-6) – Wednesdays 3.30-4.30pm

Wednesday 20th September - 29th November

If you would like your child to attend the gymnastics club, please return the slip which you should have received earlier this week. If you have lost the letter, more are available from the school office. This club is for a maximum of 20 pupils.
