Dear Parents/Carers, Sadly, it will be Jasmine Chugg’s last week here, as she will be leaving us to move to London with her partner. We wish Jasmine all the best in the next chapter of her life and we thank her for all her hard work in making a real difference for our children during her past  two years here.

Dear Parents/Carers, ‘No Pens Wednesday’ was a great success this week, with all sorts of exciting activities happening across the school; cooking apple cakes, singing, origami, art and crafts, PE and drama sketches to name just a few. Well done to all the children for working so well together in groups and pairs.

Dear Parents/Carers, All of our clubs have started well this week and it is fantastic that the children are keen to participate in the new opportunities that are being offered. Please can parents make sure that they let the adult who is running the club know if their child is unable to attend any of the sessions, so that we know exactly where all of our pupils are at all times.

The NSPCC are working with us this half term by running workshops for our Year 5/6 pupils and by leading parent and whole school assemblies. In return, the children have been asked to take part in ‘Buddy’s work out’ next week and to see if they can get friends and family to sponsor them.

It has been a very busy term with so much packed in; bikeability, may day event, class day trips, music afternoon, parents meetings, sports day, end of year shows, summer fair, careers morning plus an open afternoon this week. Thank you to all of our staff for working so hard this year and it is with sadness that due to various reasons we have some staff leaving.

Star team trophy The winning team of the ‘Star team trophy’ this week is the Portland team with 123 points. Well done for working so hard! Other team scores were as follows: Joint 2nd Sandford and Belmont teams with 119 points 4th Clifton team with 110 points Parent Information Meeting Thursday 9th June 2016 The notes from this meeting are now available on the governors’ area of the school website along with Ruth’s presentation.

Strike Action & Parents Evenings National Union of Teachers members in England have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action to protect pay and working conditions. The strike action will take place on Tuesday 5 July.
