Dear Parents/Carers, Well done to Chestnut class for presenting a wonderful class assembly this morning. It was lovely to see so many parents joining us and sharing the pupils’ learning, which is based on our KS2 Egypt topic this term.
Dear Parents/Carers, KS2 pupils have had a great time this week participating in Egyptian workshops led by one of the staff from the Exeter museum. There were all sorts of artefacts brought into school for the pupils to handle and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves dressing in some of the Egyptian outfits that would have been worn.
Dear Parents/Carers, Well done to all of our children for working so hard on their Harvest Celebration assembly today. Some of our young children do find it difficult to perform in front of so many people in the hall, but practice makes perfect and they will slowly grow in confidence as they move up the school.
Dear Parents/Carers, It was really great to see so many parents attending the Phonics workshop this morning and thank you to those parents for finding the time to come along. Phonic teaching plays an important part in the reading and writing process and we hope that parents who attended are now a little clearer on the phonic structure and how it all works.
Dear Parents/Carers,* Our wonderful school!* We have always been very proud of our diverse and supportive school community. All of us, from the youngest to the oldest, both at home and in school, have a very important part to play in helping to make our school welcoming, accepting, challenging and supportive.
Dear Parents/Carers, We were very pleased to see so many parents coming along to our ‘Meet the Teacher’ evenings this week. Remember that parents don’t need to wait for Parents Evening if there is a concern, as we would prefer to discuss any issues as they become apparent and then they can hopefully be resolved quickly.
Dear Parents/Carers, Many thanks to the parents who came along to the Childline parents’ assembly last Wednesday. Those parents who attended said it was reassuring for them to hear that they were on the right track in supporting their child’s well-being.
*Dear Parents/Carers,* Our new school meals service provided by Fresha has started well. There have been a few teething problems but we think that we have now sorted these out.
*Dear Parents/Carers,* Welcome back to all of our pupils, staff, parents and governors at Newtown Primary School and we hope that you have had an enjoyable summer break with your families. Our pupils have returned to school extremely smart so a big thank you to all of our parents for putting in this extra effort.
Dear Parents/Carers, Many thanks to all of the parents and grandparents who came along to support our sports afternoon which was held at Ladysmith’s primary school last Friday. We were incredibly lucky with the weather as the cloud cover protected us from the strong sun for most of the afternoon.
